God -- Our Father    (10/12/06)

Well, most of you know that recently, Shallon and I had daughter number 2.  Her name is Keira.  And just as when Emma was born, I am taught a lesson about God's love for us.  The Bible tells us that He is our Father, and His love for us is everlasting.  We are told that if we are His child (through saving faith in Jesus Christ as our personal Savior [by the way, if you have any questions about this, click on the link that says "How To Get To Heaven"]) then we are God's child forever.  Emma and Keira are my children forever.  They can not do anything to stop being my children.  That is exactly how it is with God when we are saved.  We can not ever stop being saved.  John 10:27-30 tells us about that.  "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:


And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any [man] pluck them out of my hand.


My Father, which gave [them] me, is greater than all; and no [man] is able to pluck [them] out of my Father's hand.


I and [my] Father are one.”  Those verses tell us that we have eternal security with God.


On top of that, having a second kid also reminds me of how God loves us unconditionally.  It also reminds me of how God loves each of us totally and uniquely and because of who we are.  I love Emma because she is Emma.  But on top of that, I love Keira because she is Keira.  God loves you because you are you.  He loves me because I am me.  It is awesome how God loves us because we are who we are.  That is awesome.  Praise God because of His love for you!
